Later, Zhao Ci Jing reveals the emperor's directive to secure the spoils, causing confusion among the officials regarding their authority. In the imperial study, Li Yuan expresses anger over the incomplete spoils list and the failure to reclaim the three northern counties, blaming Li Jian Cheng for his disobedience and the current predicament. Li Jian Cheng accepts responsibility for the situation.
