Chapter 1010: Qing Yun Tavern. [1014]
Summary
Li Jian Cheng discusses the aftermath of the Tang army's victory over the Turkic forces with his father, Emperor Li Yuan, and the ministers. He emphasizes the need to negotiate the division of spoils and the ownership of three northern counties. Chen Shuda suggests that Zhang Xuan is using the spoils discussion to remind them of previous agreements. Liu Wenjing brings up the Hetao issue, causing tension, but Li Jian Cheng mediates by proposing to appoint officials for the envoy's arrival. The Emperor agrees, delegating the response to the Crown Prince while Chen Shuda will assist. Meanwhile, at the Qing Yun Tavern, now owned by the Yu family, Gao Jin operates it as a front for intelligence gathering for the Northern Sui. Ling Jing arrives from Zhongdu to retrieve a significant purple tube eagle letter, indicating orders from the Prince.Full content
