Summary

Chen Wei is confronted with the brutality of killing as he rushes to save Lin Lin, who lies gravely injured by a silver arrow. The townsfolk of Xitan Prefecture, fearful and superstitious, refuse to help, believing Lin Lin is a harbinger of doom. Despite his efforts, Lin Lin succumbs to her injuries, leaving Chen Wei devastated. He reflects on the cruelty of mortals and the futility of their beliefs as he mourns her death. Chen Wei ultimately carries Lin Lin's body away, questioning the nature of fate and his own actions. He buries her in a serene location, hoping for her peace in the next life, while grappling with profound sorrow.
