Summary

In Chapter 17, titled "Maki's Sweet Wine," Maki Miyazawa experiences sweet wine for the first time, and despite her initial hesitation, she is drawn to the drink that combines mango ice cream with wine. As the summer heat weighs down on them, Maki enjoys her drink, though she struggles with the coldness of the ice cream. Sawayama Haruno, preparing a stronger cocktail, gets a phone call from his mother, revealing some tension over his lack of visits home which centers around his past relationship with Maki. His mother expresses disappointment over his breakup with Maki, and Haruno feels the pressure as he tries to avoid trouble. Meanwhile, Maki, feeling the effects of the alcohol, grows curious and jealous about who Haruno is speaking to on the phone, suspecting he might be talking to another girl, Mine Shiori. As her tipsiness increases, she impulsively decides to confront him, leading to a bold entrance into his bedroom. When she wraps her arms around Haruno, their conversation quickly turns comical as he tries to manage the situation while on the phone with his mother, who is oblivious to Maki's advances. Maki's drunken behavior adds to the tension, both humorous and precarious, as Haruno attempts to navigate this unexpected turn of events.
