About Me Being Adopted by Talula (Complete).

Chapter 1: The Wonderful Destiny Unearthed from the Deep Sea. [0]

Summary

In "About Being Adopted by Talula," the protagonist Orson finds himself in a desolate village within the world of "Arknights,” grappling with the harsh realities of survival. Initially excited about his otherworldly adventure and the potential for gaining powers, he quickly realizes the bleakness of his situation, being a commoner without special abilities or resources. The villagers remain indifferent toward him, and life in the frozen realm proves grueling. The narrative takes a dark turn when the village is visited by a group of "infected," known as Gan Ran Zhe. Rather than offering help, the village chief decides to deceive them, leading them to a locked barn with the intent of starvation and abandonment. Orson wrestles with his conscience as he witnesses the injustices inflicted upon the vulnerable. In a moment of moral clarity, he attempts to rescue the Gan Ran Zhe, specifically an innocent young girl, but his efforts are thwarted by the villagers. Betrayed and thrown into the barn himself, he experiences the horrific consequences of desperation as the situation escalates. Orson's compassion ultimately costs him dearly, as he witnesses the grim fate of those he tried to save. In his last moments of consciousness, he feels a removal of the essence of Death and is thrust into a new, precarious reality. Awakening in an unfamiliar setting, bound and disoriented, Orson’s journey takes a new turn as he recalls the past and the girl he sought to protect, setting the stage for his next challenges.
