Summary

In the early years of the Great Han, a Persian-style ship manned by Han men floated off Langya County. Amid bickering, a muscular man and a boy discussed their misfortunes at sea. They were part of a group, including Guang Zhi, who had recently returned from Er Island, where they had attempted to brew an elixir of immortality. After ninety days of waiting, the alchemical process seemed successful, but the group’s antics almost derailed it. As they celebrated their achievement, Master Fang and others were astonished to learn that the elixirs had indeed succeeded, prompting a frantic rush to secure their hard-earned potion.
