Summary

In a starry sky, six elders on a white jade disc discuss the appearance of something significant. Yi Yuan enters a vortex leading to an ancient passage and emerges on a floating island with the Celestial Brain Palace. Despite excitement, no one can approach the palace. The Suzerain of the Great Food Realm steps forward, prompting others to follow. Yuan Zhi learns he must climb 999 steps to enter the palace, but many struggle at the ninth and tenth steps. Upon reaching the ninth step, he faces a moral dilemma: kill the right person in a city of ruins or become part of it. After witnessing various dark acts, he ultimately decides to pull the trigger, falling into darkness.
