Summary

Fang Qiu, at a trading fair, discovers his valuable medicinal herbs have been taken. He sets up a stall with wild ginseng and mushrooms, waiting for buyers. A middle-aged man shows interest but is surprised by Fang Qiu's request for cash instead of barter. They negotiate, and Fang Qiu sells the herbs for 100,000 cash. Despite the sale, he remains hopeful for the red spirit jujube's recognition. Various buyers come and go, but only a thin young man shows curiosity about the jujube, offering a low price. Fang Qiu, sensing its value, declines, waiting for a more knowledgeable buyer.
