Chapter 1: He is called Bai Xiao Chun [0]

Summary

In the village at the foot of the mountain of Hats, a 15- or 16-year-old boy named Bai Xiao Chun prepares to leave for immortality cultivation. The villagers, though reluctant, encourage him to pursue his path, expressing their support. As he departs, the villagers celebrate his leaving, revealing their true feelings about his departure. Bai Xiao Chun climbs the mountain, feeling anxious and scared, especially when he hears rustling sounds in the bushes. Despite his fear, he recalls the incense stick left by his parents, which is said to summon an immortal. After lighting the incense, a storm brews, and a middle-aged man named Li Qing appears, angry at being interrupted for three years. Bai Xiao Chun explains that he values loyalty and couldn’t bear to leave the villagers behind, which surprises Li Qing. The conversation reveals Bai Xiao Chun's determination to cultivate immortality despite his fears. Li Qing, recognizing his potential, decides to take him to Lingxi Sect. Bai Xiao Chun, terrified of flying, clings to Li Qing as they ascend into the sky.
