Chapter 1: Being a Sugar Baby?. [0]

Summary

In this chapter, we meet Lv Nian, an Otaku who loves to stay at home and write, having quit his job as a designer. Faced with mounting debts, he tries his hand at writing, initially focusing on campus gangsters but receives rejections from editors. Undeterred, he shifts to martial arts themes and writes over 100,000 words, only to discover that traditional martial arts stories are also out of favor. Despite rejections, one editor shows interest in revisions, but Lv Nian decides to publish his work online instead. After a disappointing start with low views and minimal engagement, he contemplates giving up writing to become a delivery rider. However, he publishes a new chapter and unexpectedly receives a message about a reward for his work, which excites him until he realizes the money won't go to him. He checks the comments section and finds a mix of supportive and insincere comments. One comment stands out, urging him to continue writing, leading him to believe he might have a fan. As he interacts with this commenter, he becomes hopeful about the potential for support and even money for his writing, reflecting on his aspirations and the possibility of a brighter future as a writer.
