Summary

Hu Xiang Yu is anxious about celebrating La Ba, as she hasn't secured the ingredients for the traditional wheat porridge. Coming from H Province, she is accustomed to preparing wheat rice instead, which is a must for the festival despite tough times. She has taken over the responsibility of making the dish for the Zhu family, who have been enjoying her cooking since she arrived. Though her friend Ma Xi Xi promised to bring meat and wheat, she hasn't shown up, leaving Hu Xiang Yu feeling frustrated. As she prepares for La Ba, she sternly instructs her daughter, Xiao Cao, to stay home after a recent incident where Xiao Cao was injured. Meanwhile, Shen Jiao, a neighbor, sneaks away to the stable to feed Ma Xi Xi's horses, feeling sympathy for their mistreatment. As Shen Jiao interacts with the horses, she overhears a conversation about Ma Xi Xi being away for the festival, further complicating Hu Xiang Yu's plans.
