Summary

Zhou Sheng, a guest from Ziyi, was tasked by Madam Xu to compose a blessing for the revered Bi Xia Yuan Jun. He wrote a humorous parallel prose reflecting on life but ignored warnings about its irreverence. After sending it, Zhou Sheng, the servant, and Madam Xu all faced untimely deaths, raising suspicions about divine retribution. In a dream, Zhou's son learned from his father that careless words had dire consequences. The Chronicler of Odd Histories reflected on the recklessness of youth and the injustice faced by innocent individuals caught in the aftermath of Zhou's irreverent writing.
