Summary

In Zhongdu, Liu Shao Hui, a reserved scholar's daughter known as "Satin Willow," marries a noble scholar, and they have two sons. Despite her husband's admiration for her household management, tragedy strikes when he dies unexpectedly. Liu's attempts to discipline her eldest son, Chang Fu, lead to his rebelliousness, gambling, and eventual imprisonment after being deceived by a courtesan. Liu’s efforts to guide him through education and hard work fail as Chang Fu's struggles continue.
