Summary

In a bamboo forest, a fairy-like girl named Maide confronts a middle-aged Taoist, accusing him of abandoning his promise to a deceased woman named Yu'er. The Taoist, enraged, draws his sword but is intimidated by Maide's possession of the Xuanbing Ruler, a powerful artifact from her sect. As he attempts to escape, Maide captures a golden-threaded mouse, realizing it is on the verge of evolving into a spiritual beast. She then discovers Shi Mu, a young man frozen in place. After a playful interaction, Shi Mu boldly declares his intention to marry her, surprising Maide. She dismisses his proposal, claiming she has no interest in marriage, but Shi Mu remains undeterred.
