Summary

In a western town, Yi, a former gentleman, faced poverty and sought fortune, prompted by his wife's fears. Following a fortune teller's advice, he ventured southeast, eventually discovering a temple where he encountered a group that led him to a grand estate. After cleverly avoiding questions, he seized valuable items from a chest and escaped, building a prosperous life. Despite a theft case exposing many, Yi remained anonymous. Meanwhile, a bandit named Cao, after suffering at the hands of smaller thieves, sought revenge, forming a group to eradicate robbers, inflicting the same cruelty on them that he had experienced.
