Summary

Shao Jin Shi, known as Shi Mei from Jining, began his career as a professor in Dengzhou. Two elderly scholars, recognizing his name, sought him out, reminiscing joyfully about their past connections. They discussed Gao Dong Hai, a once-rogue character who valued righteousness and sacrificed his wealth for others. Despite enduring torture in prison for his defiance, he died on Shao's birthday. Later, Shao's reputation for kindness spread, especially during a visit to his wife and children. Wang Ruan Ting noted Shao's origins and his long-standing marriage, while clarifying that Gao had actually died from illness, not imprisonment, as previously believed.
