Summary

In Luo Village, Chen Dai, a simple man, marries a beautiful woman but feels inadequate due to unfulfilled ambitions. One night, a scholar invades their home, leading to nightly assaults on his wife, who becomes increasingly weak. After revealing the truth to her shocked mother, they realize she is being tormented by a demon. Chen Dai decides to confront the scholar, hiding with a staff. When the scholar returns, he is startled to find Chen Dai, who strikes him. However, the scholar vanishes, leaving behind only mud clothing and a towel, indicating the supernatural nature of the events.
