Summary

A fisherman named Xu befriended a ghost named Wang Liu Lang who helped him catch fish by driving them to his net. In return for the wine Xu poured for drowned spirits, Liu Lang secretly assisted his fishing. Eventually, Liu Lang became a land deity in Wuzhen and invited Xu to visit. When Xu traveled to meet him, the villagers welcomed him, having dreamed about his arrival. Liu Lang, now a deity, showed gratitude by sending Xu home with gifts and a mystical wind accompanying him, symbolizing their unique friendship that transcended life and death.
