Summary

In a warm summer night, Gu Jia Ming recalls his childhood with his sister Jian Su Yan, both orphans relying on each other. They lived in a remote village and attended a hope primary school until his sister fell ill with congenital heart disease. After dropping out of school, Jia Ming struggled to earn money for her treatment, resorting to odd jobs and eventually illegal activities. Despite his efforts, his sister's condition worsened, leading to her tragic death by suicide. Overwhelmed by grief and guilt, Jia Ming became involved in the underworld, ultimately joining the assassin organization Pei Luo Jia. Thirteen years later, he returns to their village, confronts his sister's diaries filled with her concerns for him, and reflects on their shared struggles and his descent into darkness.
