Summary

In the Ming Dynasty, Chōng, a member of Liao Yang Jun, was killed during the fall of Liao Cheng but miraculously clung to life despite being decapitated. A ghostly figure intervened, reattaching his head and allowing him to escape. Upon returning to his hometown, he was detained by the Yishui magistrate, who doubted his story but allowed him to stay in prison. Chōng argued that while a severed head could be faked, the fate of Liao Cheng was more crucial. Eventually, Liao Xin's arrival confirmed Chōng's claims, leading to his release after days of uncertainty.
