Summary

In Jinling, a wine merchant known as Zhong Shan poisoned his wine, causing drinkers to fall into blissful stupor, thus amassing wealth. One day, he freed a bound Hu, who transformed into a human. Intrigued by a woman from the Sun family, he donned a magical robe and visited her home, where a giant talisman frightened both him and the Hu, leading to their escape. A monk arrived to perform an exorcism, and the merchant, overwhelmed, turned back into a Hu. Despite his family's pleas for mercy, he ultimately met a tragic end months later, despite being promised care by the monk.
