Chapter 000: Bird Language. [340]

Summary

In Zhongzhou, a Dao Shi warned villagers of a fire using bird language, which they dismissed. When the fire occurred, panic ensued. He correctly predicted the death of twins based on sparrow songs, gaining the magistrate's favor. However, his straightforward remarks led to tension, especially regarding the magistrate's personal life. After a foreboding bird call warned him to leave, the magistrate's disgrace followed. Despite the Dao Shi's insights, those in danger often fail to heed warnings. A father and son misinterpreted a cicada’s presence as a good omen, resulting in their dismissal, highlighting the theme of misunderstanding omens and warnings.
