Summary

In a world where Demon Soldiers are deemed worthless by Xu Liao, he encounters a clever brother-sister duo from the Jade Ling Xi Clan. The sister begs for forgiveness for her brother's thievery, but Xu Liao is skeptical of their character. He challenges them to provide reasons for their survival, dismissing their attempts related to beauty and intelligence. Ultimately, they offer to serve as "Suicide Soldiers," which amuses Xu Liao, who only seeks assistants for errands. He imposes a Corruption Curse on them for noncompliance and gifts them a combat beast to aid in their tasks. The sister quickly masters wind-based spells using the beast, impressing her brother, while Xu Liao warns them to keep their abilities hidden.
