Summary

Xu Liao used the Mountain and Sea Staff to channel powers from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, transforming ancient creatures to rescue trapped souls after a disaster. He saved around 150 people and gathered supplies, but only a little over a hundred agreed to leave with him for safety as most preferred to stay. When demon beasts attacked, Xu Liao fought fiercely to protect the residents, ultimately defeating the beasts. After the battle, the neighborhood residents pleaded for him to stay, but he insisted he had to protect more people elsewhere, resulting in only about five hundred willing to follow him.
